EMDR Therapy
For anxiety, trauma, depression, mind-body connection, and life events.
Evidence-based, comprehensive therapy aimed towards transforming how clients understand themselves and heal.
-
EMDR therapy is an evidence-based approach that goes beyond addressing presenting symptoms to explore and process the underlying experiences contributing to a client's distress. Grounded in the Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) model, EMDR examines how distressing and traumatic memories are stored and how they may continue to influence an individual's thoughts, emotions, relationships, behaviors, and sense of self.
-
Originally developed to treat trauma, EMDR therapy is now used to address a broader range of concerns and distressing experiences. I incorporate EMDR with adults experiencing:
Anxiety, chronic worry, and panic
Past or recent trauma and symptoms of PTSD
The emotional impact of significant life transitions
Painful memories, emotional triggers, or recurring patterns that continue to affect daily life
Stress and distress that feel unresolved or held in the body
EMDR is a structured, evidence-based approach, but it is not the right fit for everyone or every situation. During our consultation, we'll explore your goals, experiences, and readiness to determine whether EMDR may be a helpful part of your treatment. I follow established clinical, ethical, and legal guidelines throughout the process, with an emphasis on pacing, preparation, and emotional safety. Your well-being and sense of safety remain central to our work together.

EMDR follows a clear, structured process, so you always know where we are and what comes next.

EMDR is one of the most studied approaches for trauma.
Recommended in major treatment guidelines. EMDR is included as a treatment for PTSD in guidelines from the World Health Organization, the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs and Department of Defense, the American Psychological Association, the International Society for Traumatic Stress Studies, and the UK's National Institute for Health and Care Excellence.
Backed by randomized controlled trials. Research continues to examine EMDR for PTSD and trauma-related symptoms, and increasingly for anxiety and other concerns.
Every person's experience is different and unique. I will work with you carefully and collaboratively and review your progress together along the way.
